Mark Prentice has given up being a freelance to work full time with the UK’s newest private bank, Hampden & Co.
Prentice was formerly in a senior role Lloyd’s Bank’s Corporate Banking function in Scotland and left to become a freelance.
At Hampden, which is based in Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, he will lead the banking team. A Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute, he began his career at Bank of Scotland and worked for a number of banks including TSB, ABN Amro and Clydesdale.
Chief Executive of Hampden & Co Graeme Hartop said: “We are very fortunate to have a banker of Mark’s calibre joining the team. Having worked in very senior roles in organisations that are pivotal to the Scottish economy, he will help us continue to increase our growing reputation within the community.”
Prentice said: “What the team at Hampden and Co have built is something quite new and different from incumbent banks, with a complete focus on the quality of relationship management. Heading up the team in Edinburgh is an exciting challenge and it is truly refreshing to get involved in a successful start-up bank that is already going strongly.”
Hampden, which opened in June 2015, provides private banking facilities to HNW clients and their families.
