Lagarde commends Greek progress and stresses need to continue reforms

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde commended Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras for the progress made towards fiscal sustainability, restoring competitiveness and financial stability.

Lagarde also stressed the importance of moving forward on institutional and structural reforms and implementing a robust 2014 budget to achieve the program’s objectives.

‘I assured him that the IMF remains committed to helping Greece in this endeavor,’ Lagarde said.

Separately, Samaras participated in a conference at the Peterson Institute, where he assured that Greece was dealing a blow to extremism within the limits of the Constitution.
