CAUDWELL TO BE NAMED AS THE COUNTRY’S HIGHEST PERSONAL TAX PAYER ON BBC2, 9PM, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30?
Advisory for the diary:
Entrepreneur and philanthropist John Caudwell is likely to be revealed as being what is believed to be the country’s highest personal tax payer in episode two of Nick Robinson’s BBC2 Series “Your Money and How They Spend It” http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b017x34r Wednesday, November 30 at 9pm.
Caudwell has chosen not to compromise his life with friends and family by going into tax exile, instead he has paid a nine-figure tax bill in the past three years so that he can live in Britain, and is forecast to pay a further nine-figure sum between now and the end of January 2013.
In 2006, John Caudwell sold his 10,000-employee mobile phone business, which included Phones 4u, for £1.5bn. John now concentrates on charitable and philanthropic work including Caudwell Children @caudwellkids.
Note: while we have been led to believe the content of the programme positions John Caudwell as quite possibly the country’s highest personal tax payer, we have not yet seen the programme in full.
