Bamburgh Capital, the independent corporate advisory business, has announced the appointment of Paul Cooper as an advisor and non-executive director.

Cooper is an experienced private equity executive and business advisor whose previous roles have included Deals Partner at PwC, and Chief Operating Officer at Lion Capital, a consumer-focused private equity fund. He has also held senior roles at Grant Thornton, Terra Firma Capital Partners and KPMG. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Bute Energy and Chief Operating Officer of Grayling Capital LLP.

The announcement follows the appointment, earlier this year, of two Corporate Finance Executives, Ed Thompson and Matt Wynne. Thompson previously worked at GSA Capital Partners and Partners Capital LLP. Wynne joined from KPMG where he qualified as a chartered accountant.

Michael Parkinson, director of Bamburgh Capital, said: “We are delighted that Paul has joined us. He brings a wealth of leadership and business advisory experience to us across private equity, tax, deal structuring, and fund raising which will augment the services we are able to offer our clients.”

Cooper added: “I am looking forward to working with the Bamburgh Capital team to help them develop their business across the North of England and to support them in the delivery of client work. In the short term we need to help our clients make the best of the business challenges and opportunities that Brexit and a change of Prime Minister will create.”
